Happy Friday! I'd say the whole "go to a show without knowing a single song" experiment was a success. Definitely no regrets saying yes to that one.

• At 82 years old, Ural Thomas is still lighting up stages with The Pain. Catch the Portland soul icon at Trout Lake Hall on Saturday, Sept. 26th.

• Hawthorne Theatre adds Eyes Set To Kill to its December lineup with a show on Saturday, Dec. 12th. The Arizona band has been a staple of the post-hardcore scene for more than 20 years.
