Monday returns yet again, and today we have tickets to give away for FATHOM, the immersive underwater art installation showcasing local creatives. Get ready to dive into the deep end!

JUST ANNOUNCED

  • The 38th Annual Portland Cinco de Mayo Fiesta returns to Waterfront Park in May. Enjoy live music, Mariachi Ciudad de Guadalajara, authentic Mexican food, the Guadalajara Artisan Village, a family carnival, a naturalization ceremony, and more. Win tickets!*

  • Welcome to the shadowy, synth-soaked world of Matte Blvck, the San Diego-based trio that’s rewriting the rules of darkwave and industrial music. Get tickets to see them at Star Theater in July.

  • Violin-wielding virtuoso Andrew Bird doesn’t just play music; he architects it, layering loops, effects, and melodies with the precision of a watchmaker and the soul of a jazz club crooner. Catch his show at Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall in September.

  • The punk-pop queens of Osaka are here to remind you that rock doesn’t have to be dark and brooding—it can be bright, bubbly, and unapologetically fun. Don’t miss Shonen Knife at Star Theater in October.

  • The Decemberists are Portland’s finest purveyors of indie folk-rock storytelling, where history meets whimsy and baroque pop gets a progressive twist. Celebrate the local legends during two nights at Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall in November.

TRIBUTE SHOWS & DANCE PARTIES

Whatever your vibe, we’ve rounded up the most electrifying tribute shows and dance parties that’ll have you living your best throwback dreams. Think of it as your personal time machine—minus the awkward hairstyles and questionable fashion choices.

THIS WEEK

🤘 Papa Roach

Tonight @ Veterans Memorial Coliseum (7PM)

Papa Roach’s triple-platinum debut, Infest, turns 25 this year. That’s right—Last Resort, the anthem of every angst-ridden teenager with a Walkman (Google it, Gen Z), is officially old enough to rent a car. But they aren’t just coasting on nostalgia, they’re celebrating this milestone with the Rise of the Roach tour, teaming up with Rise Against and Underoath.

🎶 Tamino

Tonight @ Aladdin Theater (8PM)

Belgian-Egyptian crooner Tamino has a falsetto that is so pure it could probably clean your soul. His music is where indie rock gets tangled up with Arabic scales, classical flourishes, and the kind of melancholy that makes you want to stare dramatically out of a rain-streaked window.

🎸 Movements with Citizen

Tomorrow @ Roseland Theater (6PM)

What happens when Movements and Citizen, two of the most emotionally charged and sonically adventurous bands of the alt-rock/post-hardcore universe, join forces? You get a show that’s basically a live-action therapy session—except with more screaming, headbanging, and existential catharsis.

🤩 Johnnyswim

Tomorrow @ Crystal Ballroom (8:30PM)

What do you get when you mix a dash of Nashville soul, a pinch of indie-folk charm, and a whole lot of chemistry? You get Johnnyswim, a husband-and-wife duo who’ve been making the rest of us look bad at both love and music.

🎤 Sawyer Hill

Tomorrow @ Hawthorne Theatre (8PM)

Sawyer Hill has clawed his way out of garage-band obscurity to become the poster child for Gen Z’s rock revival. Prepare for Doc Martens stomping the stage, a smoky baritone voice that feels like it’s been marinated in heartbreak, late nights, and just the right amount of Arkansas grit.

LOCALS ONLY

  • 2025’s (first) First Thursday is this week! There’s a lot planned for the event’s 25th anniversary, so get down to NW 13th and Irving on April 3 at 5 PM to check it out!

  • Sip into spring at The Portland Spring Cider Fest, which will bring 40+ unique ciders to Pine Street Market from April 25 to 27.

  • Secure tickets to a special screening of Pride and Prejudice to hear the iconic line “you have bewitched me, body and soul” on the big screen. The film will double as a craft session, so bring your crochet, knitting, and fiber arts to Tomorrow Theater on May 18.
