Portland had its hottest Easter since 1977, and it was truly needed! I went on a long walk and soaked up some rays, and honestly, I feel rejuvenated. ☀️

Speaking of heat, we’re giving away tickets to the Portland Hot Sauce Challenge on April 12. The event is inspired by the show Hot Ones and focuses on locally made hot sauces! Are you brave enough?

JUST ANNOUNCED

  • British DJ and producer Will Clarke is pulling up to REALM PDX with thick, rolling bass that keeps the floor locked in from start to finish. Buy tix for May 30.

  • Smoking Popes are pulling up to Mississippi Studios for two nights, which feels excessive until you remember how many feelings their songs unlock. Get tickets for June 16+17.

  • Have a Nice Life’s sound drifts between post-punk, shoegaze, and slow, crushing doom. Sound fun? Get tickets for July 20 at Wonder Ballroom.

  • Dark pop, glitchy beats, and a slightly sinister edge — get tickets for Sub Urban at Polaris Hall in September.

  • The Texture Tour pulls up to Hawthorne Theatre with charisma to spare and hooks that don’t let go. Don’t miss rapper Akeem Ali in October.

PORTLAND JOB OPPORTUNITIES & NEWS UPDATES

Artichoke Music is looking for a Shop Coordinator, Big Time Tattoo wants an artist with steady hands and questionable life choices, and a handful of local spots just flexed onto the James Beard Awards list (casual). Meanwhile, folks are side-eyeing Google’s fingerprints on the Mt. Hood water supply, because yeah… that’s a sentence now. Stay employed, stay informed, stay a little suspicious.

THIS WEEK

TUES - LEXA GATES

FRI - FCUKERS

FRI - NETTSPEND

LOCALS ONLY

  • Wine country, but make it way more interesting. The AAPI Food & Wine Festival hits McMinnville May 2–3 with stacked chefs, standout bottles, and flavors you’re not getting at your usual tasting room.

  • Thousands of dogs, zero personal space, and everyone’s having the time of their lives. Doggie Dash takes over Waterfront Park on May 9 — expect wagging tails, costume chaos, and a very wholesome excuse to be outside all day. Run, don’t walk…or should I say “dash?”

  • Potland Dispensary is hosting a 4/20 Parking Lot Party, featuring 30 local artists, flash tattoos, and free food!

We all know Portland is a crow city. Now, 5-foot-tall crow statues are about to appear around town inspired by Laika Studios ’ new film, Wildwood. Scary, or cool? You decide! Should we start a walking group to find all 30?
