Daily Email - Monday - 5/11/2026

Hi, this is Team DoPDX. Tiny newsroom update before we get into the fun stuff: Olivia has left us. Not in a “fell into the Black Lodge” way, she just moved on to new adventures. Which means we’re currently holding things down ourselves while we hire. So if you or someone you know can write, wrangle events, survive inbox chaos, and keep Portland interesting, apply. Seriously. We’re looking.

We’re officially entering that magical PNW season where being outside feels legally mandatory. So naturally, we want to send one lucky Twin Peaks fan on the most Pacific Northwest-coded day imaginable. Do206 is teaming up with CinemAdventures and MUBI for a full Twin Peaks adventure through filming locations, screenings, the actual Twin Peaks diner, and yes… cherry pie is absolutely involved. Enter to win!*

JUST ANNOUNCED

  • 7 Deadly Sins is back this Friday, 5/15 at White Eagle Saloon. Choose your fighter: Family/Friendly or Filty/Freaky. Each will have storytelling and lies. Can you find the truth?*

  • Gary Owen brings the No Hard Feelings Tour to town this Friday, 5/15, and we’ve got free tickets if you’re trying to spend your Friday hearing deeply unserious stories from one of comedy’s most chaotic storytellers!*

  • The legends of Black Uhuru, winners of the first-ever Grammy for Best Reggae Album, are coming to Star Theater on Thursday, 9/10. Catch them play their iconic hits live. Get your tickets now!

  • Piano ballads for the overthinkers, hopeless romantics, and people who definitely reread old texts from their ex. Jon McLaughlin’s Scenarios Tour hits the Mississippi Studios on Saturday, 10/10. Snag tickets before they sell out!

  • Son Volt and Kelly Willis play the Aladdin Theater on Saturday, 11/14. Alt-country roots and road-worn songwriting make this one feel timeless in the best way. Tickets are on sale now!

HAPPY HOUR GUIDE TO PORTLAND

Photo: Pope House Bourbon Lounge via Facebook

Portland’s economy may be held together by vibes, tote bags, and people saying “let’s just grab one drink” before accidentally spending six hours out. Luckily, happy hour exists. We rounded up the best cheap eats, strong pours, and wallet-saving specials across PDX so you can feel financially responsible while ordering a third margarita and truffle fries.

THIS WEEK

TON 5/11 - ALEX G

TOM 5/12 - GZA

TOM 5/12 - PROTOJE

WED 5/13 - JOYCE MANOR

THURS 5/14 - WILD NOTHING

LOCALS ONLY

  • Gas prices are climbing so high your car might qualify as a luxury item. Meanwhile, Oregon’s gas tax is on the May 19 ballot. Read up, then go vote before your next fill-up requires emotional support!

  • After 24 years, the Portland Fire finally returned to the court over the weekend, and the Moda Center officially became the “Fire Pit!” Hope your group chat is ready to suddenly become extremely invested in the WNBA.
