This week absolutely flew by. I blinked, and somehow it's already Thursday, not that I'm complaining. I've got a weekend full of chores ahead, but at least the weather's keeping things interesting. While summer's still hanging on, I rounded up a few of my favorite spots and activities around Portland below.

JUST ANNOUNCED

• Dossey comes to Twilight Cafe & Bar on Wednesday, Oct. 21st with Camp Crush and Deepest Darkest. The Austin artist has been making a name for herself with polished electronic pop and infectious hooks.

• Fresh off a GRAMMY win, Tank and the Bangas head to town on Wednesday, Nov. 11th. The New Orleans group is known for blending soul, hip-hop, R&B, and spoken word into a live show that's unlike much else.

• Dark synths and industrial sounds take over Dante's on Saturday, Aug. 29th when Ligature Marks, Die Robot, Dear Assassin, and Fear of Dissolving share the bill.

• Three local bands share the stage at High Water Mark Lounge on Saturday, Aug. 8th. Catch Creepy Crawlies, Guerrilla Teens, and Montgomery Wards for a stacked night of garage rock and punk.

• Two decades after The Spirit Room, Michelle Branch heads to McMenamins Crystal Ballroom on Tuesday, Sept. 29th. Expect a night full of the songs that helped define the early 2000s, plus plenty of newer favorites.
