Author Leo Tolstoy once defined art as a "means of union among men, joining them together in the same feelings.” As we seek more human connection in a world of technology, you can always find it in art! There’s art all around Portland, and we have the first place for you to look.

Celebrate 15 years of Pancakes & Booze at Hawthorne Theatre on May 15 — free pancakes included. One of the nation’s largest pop-up art movements is on tour, and we have a pair of tickets to give away!*

JUST ANNOUNCED

  • UK power pop and rock band Bad Nerves are taking over Revolution Hall on August 2. Get tickets if you want to hear the lovechild of The Ramones and The Strokes.

  • Minimalist pop duo DWLLRS is bringing their One Of Those Nights Tour to Polaris Hall in August.

  • Bluegrass went to therapy, read some philosophy, and pushed out Punch Brothers. Get tickets to the Grammy-winning band at Revolution Hall in October.

  • Get ready to let out some pent-up energy when The MenzingersEverything I Ever Saw Tour comes to Revolution Hall in October.

  • Postmodern Jukebox takes your favorite songs, throws them in a time machine, and somehow makes them hotter. The Future Is Vintage Tour is all jazz hands, killer vocals, and appreciation of past decades.

PHOTO BOOTHS IN PORTLAND

Because every good night out deserves photographic evidence (and at least one chaotic group shot). We rounded up the best local photo booths so you can strike a pose, grab the print, and immediately lose it in your jacket pocket.

Fun fact of the day: David Attenborough turns 100 years old tomorrow. The voice of every nature doc to exist, National Geographic is honoring him by naming a new species of wasp after him. Personally, that wouldn’t be my pick. That being said, I do share a name with the fictional “Olivia the Pig” children’s series, which is pretty cool.
