I may have gotten a little carried away this week. Between Pride weekend, a bonus roundup of local bands playing around town, and a list of LGBTQ+ owned businesses to keep on your radar, there's a lot to dig into.
But first, we're only two days out from Shady Pines Festival, and you know what that means, it's time to test your luck. Throw your name in the hat for a chance to win, then let's get into it.
THE PARTY’S NOT OVER
Pride Part Two is coming up this weekend, so we figured we'd give you a head start on making your plans.
The Pride Festival returns to Waterfront Park on July 18th from 12–8 p.m. and July 19th from 11:30 a.m.–6 p.m. with two days of live entertainment, vendors, food, and community celebration.
On Sunday, July 19th, the Pride Parade steps off at 11 a.m. from the North Park Blocks before making its way to the festival.
For the first time, TUFF brings its internationally known leather and fetish dance party to Portland's Crystal Ballroom. Horse Meat Disco headlines a night of house, techno, and queer nightlife during Pride weekend.
Looking for somewhere to start Pride weekend? BANG! brings together Portland selectors Sappho and Bro Hoe with Philadelphia's kraftwitch for a night of queer-led techno and dancing into the early hours.
If your ideal night includes dancing, meeting new people, and squeezing in a game of pool, Dyke Access has you covered. Head to Panther Club at 9 p.m. for sets from DJ Enboy. There's no cover, just bring your ID.
SUPPORT LOCAL, SUPPORT QUEER
There's no shortage of great LGBTQ+-owned businesses around Portland. If you're looking to branch out from your usual spots, this is a good place to start.
