After staring at my closet earlier, I came to the realization that I have so many clothes that just don’t get worn. Sometimes, you just have your favorite items in rotation and forget to switch it up. Sometimes you just don’t have anywhere to dress up! If you have the same problem, we’re giving you a place to change it.

We’re sending you to Churchill Nines at The Nines — Portland’s fanciest Kentucky Derby watch party. Think cocktails, Southern bites, outfit contests, and the most exciting two minutes in sports.

JUST ANNOUNCED

  • Baseball’s biggest block party is back. The Portland Pickles return with fan-favorite chaos and brand-new theme nights — Emo Night to Dilly Wonka. Walker Stadium stays undefeated all summer. Single-game tickets are live, so lock in your nights now.*

  • Comedy Bang! Bang! is taking over Revolution Hall for not one, but two fully improvised shows. Scott Aukerman, Paul F. Tompkins, and the All-Stars go off-script and off the rails. You won’t see the same show twice — because no one knows what’s happening.*

  • Catch Snail Mail at Wonder Ballroom this May, fresh off Ricochet, their first album in five years that leans even harder into those sharp, spiraling feelings.

  • Dominic Fike’s pulling up to Hayden Homes Amphitheater in September with Comedy Tragedy Parody, which pretty much sums up his whole deal.

  • Responsible for producing some of the catchiest jangle pop hits of the 80s, Lloyd Cole brings his new album, On Pain, to The Alberta Rose Theatre in October.

WHERE TO SEE WILDFLOWERS

Portland weather can’t make up its mind, but the wildflowers don’t care —t hey’re popping off anyway. We rounded up the best spots to catch the city (and beyond) in full bloom. Go chase some color before the next mood swing rolls in.

LOCALS ONLY

  • You know the Criterion Mobile Closet? Yeah, the one where celebrities choose their favorite movies off a shelf in a 5 × 5 room. Carrie Brownstein and Fred Armisen are bringing it to Portland from May 29-31.

  • Stop saying you’re gonna learn to DJ and just do it. Open Signal’s 4-week, hands-on course this May breaks down the gear, the software, and the basics with a local DJ who actually knows what they’re doing.
