Hi Portland! I’m Samantha, and I’m excited to be joining DoPDX. I’ll be sharing some of the things that make this city so rad. I've lived here my whole life, and one of my favorite things about Portland is that it still manages to surprise me. Which is probably why my calendar is already getting a little out of hand.
Not to be dramatic, but I feel like we're officially entering the part of summer where saying "I'm free that day" becomes a dangerous thing to admit. Every time I think I've got the month figured out, another plan adds itself onto my list.
So, before we all end up accidentally double booked, here's what's happening around town. Also, let me sneak in a little freebie for you before we get started. Shady Pines Festival is almost here, but your chance to win your way in is almost gone!
JUST ANNOUNCED
From Hillsboro to millions of streams, Kublaii is bringing his West Coast Tour home. The singer songwriter behind fan favorites like "Dynamite" and "Eyes Blue" stops by Hawthorne Theatre on Saturday, 8/29.
One of country music's fastest rising new voices is headed to Portland. Cardinal Bloom brings the Burn the House Tour to Revolution Hall on Tuesday, 11/3.
For more than 20 years, Russian Circles have been proving just how heavy instrumental music can be. Catch the Chicago trio at Crystal Ballroom on Friday, 11/14 for a night of volume you can feel in your chest.
Fortune Feimster's comedy is basically a guaranteed mood boost. Between Netflix specials, blockbuster voice roles, and the Handsome podcast, she's everywhere. Catch her Takin' Care of Biscuits Tour at Keller Auditorium and laugh accordingly Portland.*
Plus other just announced shows from Drag Brunch Hosted by Nicoleonoscopi!, Agriculture, and more!
WIN STUFF WEDNESDAY
Your social calendar is probably filling up, and we're happy to help. Take a look through this week's giveaways for a chance to win tickets to events around town.
