There is something so nice about being up at 8AM with the patio door open, listening to the rain while I’m in my favorite fluffy sweatshirt and my dog is asleep. Truly a perfect morning.
I’m definitely making the first soup of the season today, but I can’t decide between lasagna soup or potato leek. Send your votes my way.
As always, it’s Win Stuff Wednesday, so let’s get into it!
Let’s start with Floater at the Crystal Ballroom on Friday, Oct. 30th. The Portland rock mainstays have been at it for more than three decades, and we’ve got a pair of tickets up for grabs. Enter to win!
JUST ANNOUNCED
Betty is going full Halloween at Holocene on Saturday, Oct. 31st. The quarterly queer dance party will have high-energy dance and techno, spooky fashion, and local DJs including Sanro.
Local comedian Andie Main is turning spooky stories into comedy at White Eagle Saloon on Sunday, Oct. 11th. She’ll hear true tales of ghosts, aliens, shadow people, and other weird encounters before improv team Local News reenacts them on the spot.
Halloween comes early at Twilight Cafe and Bar on Friday, Oct. 23rd with a full night of cover sets. Hard Pill takes on Deftones, The Slightest Ure does Sparks, Sad Boy Union covers Barenaked Ladies, and more starting at 8PM.
Chipped Nail Polish is taking over The Six Below Midnight on Friday, Nov. 6th, with Mckenna Esteb and Frecks joining the night. Music starts at 8:30PM.
The Suitcase Junket has a Portland stop on the calendar this fall. Catch the one-man band at The Showdown on Thursday, Nov. 5th starting at 8PM.

Kennedy School has everything you need to hide from the rain for a few hours. Start with a movie, wander over for food and drinks, and if you really want to commit to the cozy agenda, there’s a soaking pool waiting for you.
OMSI is letting you step aboard the Titanic without leaving Portland. This 10-minute VR experience takes you through the ship as it appeared in 1912, ending in a lifeboat as you watch the Titanic sink. It runs through Oct. 18th and costs $8, or $7 for OMSI members.
